Lax

So I haven't posted in a while. Shoot me. I've been busy with fuck-all, ya know?

So anyway, interview here, interview there, nothing yet. feh.

Last Thursday or so, Ninsi and the Squid and I decided to go out for dessert. I hadn't been to Ruby Tuesday's in a long time, and have always been fairly partial to the Strawberry Tallcake. So we made the trek out there for that specific dessert. Get in, sit down, and the fookers do not have it anymore. They only have like three dessert items at all. We wound up getting two of the Chocolate Tallcakes instead. They were quite good, but it wasn't what I wanted. I expect I will never go there again.

Then, two days later, we had planned to go to Ron's (Don's) for lunch to get Chili-Sausage-Hamburgers, but learned the night before that they had completely closed down. No more Rons in Texas at all.

I have since given up trying to find something to eat I that I actually want. All my places close or quit carrying the food I want. bitches.

Gobbled

Do you know how difficult it is to find a 20-odd lb turkey in July? They just do not hardly grow them that big this time of year. I know. Because I'm looking for one. And I have three days left to find one. Otherwise, it will not have time to thaw before next weekend so I can roast it up right.

I'll find one if'n I have to go shoot it mehself.

Oh, and you know that interview question "Where do you see yourself in 3/5 years?" No matter what I say, it is the wrong answer. le sigh.

Cherry lovin'

Turkey = bought. Kudos to Albertson's for packing large turkeys.

Met Ninsi for lunch today, and we discussed desserts. We'll have a lot of pie. Possibly too much. Pecan, Cherry, Pumpkin, and Chocolate. I told her to cut one back, and asked the peanut gallery for input. The gallery is pretty much saying to nix the Cherry, so far. And since that is the one that Ninsi wants most, and it's her party, then odds are we'll have an overload of pie. Or Ninsi will have a full Cherry Pie to herself a week later.

I don't care. My vote was to kill the Chocolate pie and go for fondue instead.

Tree of Knowledge

So Ninsi and I are sitting on the couch this evening watching TV. Both dogs are outside, and they start barking. They do that every now and again. Except this time, it sounds like they are standing right at the patio door barking. I pause the TV and we walk to the kitchen, and there they are. Both of them barking at the dog door. Tracy looks down and sees this:

The dogs are going crazy at it. So I stoop down and peck at the window to get its attention while Ninsi goes out the front to get the dogs through the main gate. We bring the dogs in and they bark at it from inside. But after a couple minutes, it slithers off. If you look at it closely, you can see some red spots on it. I think Luna may have nipped it a couple times.

I thought it was just a variety of King Snake at first, but it looks like it may have been a Texas Rat Snake instead.

You

DNS

You may not have noticed the website being down all day yesterday. That is because my host provider moved everything to a new server with a new IP. And didn't tell me. When I finally complained, they gave me the new IP which I then had to go update with my domain registar. Propogation then took an unknown amount of hours. Stupid webhosters.

In other news, something lighthearted to read:
top 10 poisons

---- update ---
I tried posting this earlier, but it was failing. Kept getting directory issues. Seems that when they moved to the new server, my webhost also changed the path name to my directory. So of course MT couldn't find anything. These are the kind of things I feel I should be informed of before such move occurs.

Baby Z

Grats out to my brother and sister in law. She finally birthed his spawn this morning around 11 am.

We're all mad here

As everyone knows, we had our 2nd annual "I cook a Turkey" day a couple weeks ago. Or as Ninsi insists - our 2nd annual Christmas in July. Whatever. As we saw last week, the eagle was passed on, but I neglected to post the fabulisimo gift I snagged. People, it just doesn't get any better than this, if you are a wino, that is...

Words can barely describe how bad it is. Yet, I am sure, that someday, someone will already be drunk enough over here to start drinking it. My money is on myself, Zero, or Reptile. Smart money says that one of us starts it, and the others join in the 'fun'.

Bad as it is, though, I think it is better than that Beringer Reisling that Zero had at his house this weekend. Maybe I just expected something more. And maybe there was a reason I had no idea that Beringer even made a Reisling. That's more likely it. I was a happier fellow with that ignorance.

wtf

Why didn't anyone tell me that I was missing like a full week of posts? I just noticed the entries and pictures I posted for Christmas in July were gone! Damn webhost apparently had to restore when they moved my site and I lost a week. They didn't tell me that. fookers.
