Im disenchanted this morning. The Dictionary.com Word of the Day for yesterday was 'coxcomb'. The Word of the day for April 1st, 2000: 'coxcomb.'

Yes, I know it's nearly seven years. But I dont know that they haven't used it in between. It is still less than 3000 days. You would think that with all the words availible to them, they would have a larger pool than 3000 words. I expected so much better.

coxcomb \KOKS-kohm\, noun:
1. obsolete. A cap worn by court jesters; adorned with a strip of red. (Now cockscomb).
2. archaic. The top of the head, or the head itself.
3. Obsolete. A fool.
4. A vain, showy fellow; a conceited, silly man, fond of display; a superficial pretender to knowledge or accomplishments; a dandy; a fop.
